Syed Qutub Ali Shah {Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan}



Syed Qutub Ali Shah Jahania was a Sufi saint of Hyderabad, Sindh. He was born in the year 1805 A.D/1229 AH and was among the descendants of Jahaniyan Jahangasht and Jalaluddin Surkh-Posh Bukhari. His family belongs to a prominent lineage of Naqvi (descendants of Imam Naqi Ali al-Hadi) settled at Uch Sharif and Jahanian. His ancestors came from Uch Sharif and settled in Sindh. His father Syed Fateh Din Shah came at Hyderabad, Sindh and built a town Tando Jahania where descendants of this family still reside. 



He was a Sufi master and a great poet. He departed on 16th Dhulhaj 1328 AH/ 22 December 1910, Shrine at Tando Jahania, Hyderabad. Following are some lines taken from his Sindhi poem in praise of Imam Ali;
