Shamsul Mashaikh Hazrat Pir Zamin Nizami Syed Bokhari

His Holiness Shamsul- Mashaikh Hazrat Pir Zamin Nizami Syed Bokhari, the famous Sufi Saint, spiritual personality of India and Ancestral Direct Descendant of the great Sufi Saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, was born at Delhi in India in the year of 1905.He was the sole successor, Nasabi Janashin (Heir) and the 19th Sajjadahnashin of Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Aulia.His contribution for the cause of peace and harmony deserve all praise. He had played an important role in propagating the teachings of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia in every corner of India. Large number of people irrespective of faith and religion always used to meet him in his life time and now visit his shrine in order to pay tributes.Hazrat Pir Zamin Nizami,Rehmatulla Alaihe(The mercy of God be upon him) has devoted his whole life in looking after the affairs of the Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, where his ancestors are buried. His followers and Mureeds (Disciples) are existing all over India and abroad. Shamsul Mashaikh Hazrat Pir Zamin Nizami had spent most of his time in the worship of Almighty Allah, prayers, Zikr, recitation of Holy Quran and for the cause of humanity and the welfare of the mankind. His one of the favorite Ebadat was “Namaze-Tahajjud” Tahajjud Prayer,which he continued to pray regularly till his death (Wisal). He was fond of Sama Qawwali. He was very simple, disciplined and strictly followed the principles of Tariqat i.e. the way of Sufism or Islamic mysticism. He lived a life of austerity in the tradition of sufi saints. He had kept himself away from politics. He was the real Sufi having all qualities of “Wali Allah”. He was very compassionate in nature and therefore treated all people with compassion and sympathy. He died on 15th of June, 1993 corresponding to 23rd Zilhijja, 1413 HIJRI at the time of “Tahajjud” prayer. Thousands of people belonging to all walks of life including the then President of India, Vice President and Prime Minister of India and Ambassadors of Muslim Countries condoled the death of this great Spiritual preceptor and Sufi. His annual Urs Celebration is always held in the Islamic month of Zilhijja from 23rd to 24th which is attended by his Mureeds and followers.
